Icon Bearer:
I am long overdue for a series of posts showing the 50+ guys mostly done, heck don't get me started on the WIP prototype "Heavy Weapon" servitors I am working on..
Theme: AdMech / SpireGuard from Prospero. Red Prime color, gold and white secondary.
For now I need some feedback on this guy. Is there too much red?
I painted the Banner and Body separate, and I know I need to do some final cleanup on the Icon (free handing words at that scale are a challenge for me). But back to the question should I repaint the cloak in a off white/cream or is the red acceptable?
Its the mechanicum, there's no such thing as 'too much red'.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I'm getting ready to jump into another Ad-Mech project myself, and this is some very inspiring stuff! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteCool start, not too much red...can there ever be? The main problem with the banner bearer is that you cannot see his face so looks kinda silly. Don't know if there is a way to fix that though. Faces are pretty important on figs, but thats the only thing wrong here. Good luck!
ReplyDelete@Da Masta Cheef / Mordian7th,
ReplyDeleteThanks! I ended up switching the cloak color for an off white, pictures soon!
@Tim,
Thanks for the feedback!
It's a limitation of the model, between the size of the banner and the 25mm base. Also hard to see in photo (many figures look different in person) but both this figure and the second one are based at an angle, with the neck and head tilted towards the viewer. To be honest I am not sure how to avoid blocking part of the figure without having the banner raised to a crazy height or outstretched making the figure unwieldy. Downside of "Guard" size vs SM's.
